Moving image, two-screen installation, sound design and video editing, 2022
This looped, two-screen installation reflects on the experience of existing within a world shaped by normative cognitive expectations, and the internal cycles of rumination and anxiety that can arise. It evokes a visceral unease, drawing the viewer into that emotional landscape.
The piece gestures towards the need for restructure, and therapeutic support in holding space for neurological differences.

Development
From the start, I wanted the installation to feel immersive, combining visuals and sound to convey a sense of discomfort, anxiety, and stagnation that made progress feel out of reach. I began by filming the performance, researching artists like Pipilotti Rist, and exploring how sound could shape emotion. My original plan for a four-screen installation evolved into two, allowing a more focused viewing, covering the two walls, side by side, and an easy transfer for online viewing. I shot on a BlackMagic 6K camera using 50mm and 100mm lenses, and built the sound design from a mix of found and recorded material, edited in Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
